Welcome! And thanks for checking out Dog Country Lodging!
Dog Country Lodging is an organic concept in the dog boarding field. One definition of “organic” is “as denoting a relation between elements of something such that they fit together harmoniously as necessary parts of a whole”. That’s precisely the objective of our family owned and operated business.
What are the primary elements, individually and collectively, that set Dog Country Lodging apart?
We have owned, loved, and dedicated our family life to our beloved dogs (here and in Heaven) for over five decades. We understand the inherent nervousness of leaving a four-legged child in the care of someone else. Will they be safe? Will they be happy?
Will they be taken care of like they are at home? The answers are yes, yes, and yes.
Our hope and desire are that your dog is perfectly at peace with overnighting for a short or long period at Dog Country because they:
Open communication and accountability are vital to you being at peace with leaving
your pet in our care. We have:
Thank you for considering us as a trusted partner in your dog’s happiness. We look forward to welcoming your pet into our family!
Please reach us at patricia@dogcountrylodging.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Yes, you are welcome to bring your pet's bed or toys to make them feel more comfortable during their stay.
We try to handle all of the details with the reservation request form and transactional emails so that check-in can be quick and as stress free for your dog as possible. Our main goal will be to answer any last questions you have and ensure you have access to the camera in your lodge so that you can check on your pup anytime.
On day one, your dog will most likely wonder, "what in the world just happened?" Knowing that, we will work to make everything as fun and interesting as possible to reduce that "I've been left" feeling. Once we are all checked in, your furry friend will be loaded for a "hay ride" from the check-in office to the lodges that are at the top of the property. A short walk from the transport wagon to the lodge will give an opportunity to stretch, sniff, mark some territory and see the surroundings. We enter the large open fenced play area and let your dog run and look around before introducing them to their private quarters until the next play time. A late evening/ night playtime will give them the opportunity to run off any remaining energy for a good nights sleep.
Absolutely! We welcome visits to the property. We will meet you at the office to see the facility and then escort you up to the lodges for a tour. To ensure that there is no disruption to the care of the dogs, including play time, all tours require an appointment 24 hours in advance. Dog Country is not a place that dogs get put into a cage and forgotten about. Call or email to plan a visit anytime!
That is Micah. He was a rescue beagle that was badly abused as a puppy. He was afraid and didn't even know how to play when we took him home. He lived a very happy and fulfilled life with us until our Lord decided to take him to his eternal home where he is waiting for us. The picture was taken in his favorite spot to sit and look out over the property. That spot is where we built DOG COUNTRY so that your dog and come and see the view that he loved so much.
